2011 Thredbo Swimming Camp - October Long Weekend
October 01, 2011 at 9:05 AM
This was the snowiest of all the October long weekends we have so far spent in Thredbo. It always makes for an interesting change to go swim training in the the snow!
The training was generally aimed at the sprint carnivals that were following the long weekend while still mixing things up a bit with some video analysis and drill work especially breastroke which was specifically targetted by sessions with Ian from Tuggeranong Masters.
Speaking of Tuggeranong we were pleased to again share the weekend with some of their members. Sharing our swimming stories and 'pain' in the pool bought everyone together really well. Although there was healthy competition when we broke into groups to compete in Jason and Carolin's trivia night.
Have a look at Tuggeranong's newsletter article for their thoughts on the weekend. (Thanks Caroline)
By the time Monday came around after 2 swim sessions a day and other activities during the day including skiing most we pretty happy they had got all the training and exercise out of the weekend that was possible.
Was also good to hear the training paid off with PB's and fastest swims for the year being attained.
Thanks to Susan Leech for doing all the organisation.
