Jenny Whiteley & I travelled to the Sydney Intrnational Regatta Centre for this one. This is the 23rd time I have competed in this event. Jenny has swum it about 20 times.

It is a good swim for those who are wanting to attempt an open water swim but don't like the rough water as the swim follows the rowing  course at the regatta centre,

My time for the 3km was 1:09:07.48. This got me 1st place and was a lot faster than the previous years with 1:15:00 & 1:26:00. Jenny also got 1st place with 44:24.48.

This year was the first time I had competed in the 5km event. My goal was to break 2 hours. I manged to do that with 1:58:51.31. This got me 2nd place. Jenny managed to get 1st place with 1:13:5.31.

Jenny also made it a family affair with her son Grant competing as well. His times were 40:59.08 (3km, 2nd) & 1:08:28.05 (5km, 2nd).

I am also planning to compete in the 5km Lake Burley Griffin swim in Canberra on 7 February.
